So the crawl space of the mobile home shown above would be defined by some as not readily accessible because it requires the removal of an access panel, but others call it readily accessible if the panel can be easily removed without tools. Readily accessible can mean not requiring tools to remove a cover, not necessary to move any obstacles, and not requiring a ladder. Other sources define the two terms somewhat differently. The simplest definitions of “readily accessible” and “accessible” that we’ve found are in the International Residential Code (IRC):
